Extract text
Copy the text of a PDF or save it as a .txt file.
Quick start
- 1Choose a PDF.
- 2Optionally enter the pages, e.g.
1-3, 7. Empty means all pages. - 3Click “Extract text”.
- 4Copy the text or save it with “Save as .txt”.
Output
The text appears in a field. The word count is shown below it. The search above highlights matches in the text and shows how often the term occurs.
| Option | Effect |
|---|---|
| Page headings | Puts a separator line such as — Page 2 — before each page. |
| Join lines | Joins hard line breaks within paragraphs into flowing text and fixes hyphenation at line ends. |
Limits
The order of the text follows the order in which it is stored in the PDF. With columns, tables or unusual layouts it can differ from the visual order.
