Position and format
There are six positions: top and bottom, each left, center and right. Four templates are available for the format:
| Template | Example on page 3 of 10 |
|---|---|
{n} | 3 |
{n} / {total} | 3 / 10 |
Page {n} | Page 3 |
Page {n} of {total} | Page 3 of 10 |
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Number style | 1 2 3, I II III, i ii iii, A B C or a b c. Roman and alphabetic numbers suit prefaces, for example. |
| From page / To page | Numbers only this range. Pages before and after stay without a number, so you can leave out a cover page. |
| Start at | The number the first numbered page gets. If you start at page 2 with 1, page 2 shows 1. |
| Mirror on even pages | Swaps left and right on every second page so the number is always on the outer edge in double-sided printing. |
Appearance
| Option | Range | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Font | Sans-serif, Serif, Monospace | Corresponds to Helvetica, Times and Courier. |
| Bold | on / off | Switches to the bold variant of the font. |
| Size | 6–48 pt | Font size relative to an A4 page. |
| Distance from edge | 8–96 pt | Distance to the page edge, also relative to A4. |
| Opacity | 10–100 % | Lower values make the number paler. |
| Color | Swatches or custom color | The color picker accepts hex values and has an eyedropper if your browser supports it. |
